When rules changed (Queensland's new-home exemption, the ACT abolishing first-home duty), many of the top results kept quoting last year's rules.
So Tallyroo does it differently: every rate is pulled from the official source, dated, and linked; every calculation engine is tested against the revenue offices' own worked examples; and every page explains the brackets and concessions behind your result — the working, not just the answer.
Tallyroo is independent. It isn't owned by a bank, a broker or a real-estate portal, and it doesn't sell leads. The site is free to use and supported by advertising, which never influences a calculation.

Tallyroo is built and maintained by Rakesh Choudhary, who personally writes every calculator engine, sources every rate, and keeps the tests honest. This isn't his first calculator platform: he also runs Indian Pay Calculator, a salary and pension platform relied on by Indian government employees, and Calcinum, a library of 130-plus US tax and finance tools — each built the same way: official schedules in, transparent working out, figures re-verified whenever the rules change. Tallyroo publishes arithmetic, not advice. Every figure is computed from the revenue offices' published schedules and pinned by an automated test suite to their own worked examples, so if a rate drifts from the official source the site fails to build rather than show a stale number. The authority here is the sources and the maths, and both are shown on every page. Whether those numbers suit your circumstances is a question for a conveyancer or a licensed adviser.
